Starting April 22, 2019: First, But Last?: Women’s Stories Living In The Equality State “Wyoming,” a podcast by the Wyoming Humanities Council interviewing prominent Wyoming women to celebrate the 150th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the state.
August-September 2019: Pop-up versions of the National Archives exhibit Rightfully Hers will be distributed to 36 venues across the Wyoming including schools, libraries, museums, and community sites—to be displayed for the centennial.
November 7-8, 2019: Women Suffrage on the Northern Great Plains, a symposium at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, Wyoming. Speakers on Wyoming suffrage and the role of women in politics discuss suffrage in Wyoming and the surrounding Great Plains states. The authors in the (Oct 2019) anthology entitled Votes for Women on the Northern Plains: Woman Suffrage in Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota will present their work, along with students in the UW course "Art and Activism of Women Suffrage." The entire symposium is open to the public.
December 10, 2019: Wyoming celebrates passing the first legislation granting universal suffrage and political equality to women on December 10, 1869. The documentary film State of Equality: 150 Years of Wyoming Women’s Suffrage will be premiered by Wyoming PBS Foundation in Cheyenne at the Civic Center with a special program and featuring our state’s elected officials.
